Mediceuticals: What’s the Difference Between Cellagen and Numiox?
Both are powerful Mediceuticals products – but they’re designed for different needs. Here’s what they do, who they’re for, and how they support healthy hair growth.
If you're experiencing thinning hair or noticing that your scalp doesn’t feel quite right – maybe sluggish, congested, oily or inflamed – you might have heard us mention Cellagen or Numiox.
These two topical treatments from Mediceuticals are formulated to support the health of your scalp and hair follicles. They both stimulate circulation, encourage a better growth environment, and are often used as part of a wider hair loss or scalp treatment plan. But they’re not quite the same – and depending on your needs, one might be more suitable than the other.
What is Cellagen?
Cellagen is a lightweight, daily-use scalp treatment designed to:
Stimulate blood flow to the scalp
Calm inflammation or tightness
Support the hair follicles and encourage stronger regrowth
It contains pentapeptides, which are known to support follicle regeneration, as well as vitamins and botanicals that nourish and soothe the scalp. Many clients say their scalp feels less tight and more alive after regular use.
We often recommend Cellagen for:
Diffuse thinning or slow regrowth
Scalp fatigue or poor circulation
Clients who need gentle, supportive stimulation without oil-stripping
What is Numiox?
Numiox is a more targeted treatment, formulated for those experiencing hormonal or hereditary hair thinning – often referred to as androgenetic hair loss.
It’s designed to:
Block the effects of DHT (dihydrotestosterone), the hormone often linked to follicle miniaturisation
Improve oxygen and nutrient delivery to the follicle
Help clear excess oil and debris from the scalp
With a tingling, invigorating feel (thanks to menthol and other circulation-boosting ingredients), Numiox is especially good for oily scalps or when you feel that product or sebum is blocking growth.
We typically recommend Numiox for:
Male or female pattern thinning
Oily, sluggish, or congested scalps
Teenagers or younger adults showing early signs of genetic hair loss
Can Cellagen and Numinox Be Used Together?
Yes – and they often are.
For example, some clients use Cellagen in the morning for its soothing, follicle-supporting action, and Numiox in the evening to clear oil and tackle hormonal influences. Others rotate based on how their scalp feels throughout the week.
They also pair well with:
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) – which further boosts circulation and follicle activity
Microneedling – to improve absorption and follicle stimulation
Shampoos like Saturate or Vivid – to prep the scalp and remove any surface build-up
Supporting Your Scalp Through Every Phase
Whether you’re at the beginning of your hair recovery journey or deep into a treatment plan, understanding the right support for your scalp makes all the difference. Both Cellagen and Numiox offer real benefits – but knowing which one suits your scalp best can help you get the most from your routine.
